Welcome to Year 3!

Transition from Year 2 to Year 3
Our aim is to ensure that the children experience a smooth transition from Key Stage One to Key Stage Two. The year 3 curriculum builds upon and extends their experiences that children have had in Year 2. The children are beginning to get used to the absence of an afternoon play!

Reading in Year 3
I will be sending home reading books daily as usual and there is a parent comment book for you to write in.  Please do comment on how you think your child is doing in their reading.  Please return the book daily and sign or tick it so we know that it has been read. If your child is reading a chapter book then the page they have read to each night should be noted down in the parent comment book.

Homework
Homework will be given out on Fridays. There will be three activities to choose from and they have to complete two of them. It then needs to be returned to school by the next Tuesday morning.

PE 
Your child will be doing PE on Wednesdays and can wear a t-shirt and shorts/leggings.  Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are labelled. Swimming will not be starting until after February half term.

Attendance
Please ensure that your children are in the playground at 8:50am every morning. It is vital that your child is on time. 

Please make sure your child is attending every day. However, if they are absent because they are very unwell please inform the school Tel: 02087435847.
If you are not sure about anything please do not hesitate to come and speak to the class teacher before or after school.
